Meet Linda Barnes, our July Seniors for Seniors Employee of the Month. Linda was chosen because she is an excellent senior companion who is always willing to take on new shifts and help whenever she can. Here is what Linda has to share about being a senior companion:
We have made the decision to make COVID-19 vaccination mandatory for all of our team members. As an integral part of the continuum of care for our clients, we are proud to join our partners across the health system in taking this important step toward ending this pandemic.
Seniors for Seniors chose Camilla Mason for June's Employee of the Month. Camilla, who works out of the Toronto branch, was chosen because of her positivity and friendly personality. She treats her clients like her friends and wins everyone over with her warmth and optimism.
Too much heat is not safe for anyone, but it is especially unsafe for older adults. It is important for seniors to take precautions to protect themselves during the hot summer months.
During difficult or busy times, it is important to remember to prioritize your mental and physical health. One of the best ways to ensure that you are taking care of yourself is by practicing self-care.
The theme for Seniors Month in Ontario this year was “Stay safe, active and connected” as designated by the Ministry of Seniors. It's a year of change, hardship and uncertainty for seniors, but also the incredible resilience, courage and determination shown by this generation in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.
We at Seniors for Seniors look forward to Seniors’ Month every year. It is a special time where we celebrate our seniors for the significant place that they hold in our lives. This year the theme for Seniors’ Month is “stay safe, active and connected.”
Seniors for Seniors chose Marie Rawson to be May's Employee of the Month. Marie is a loyal and dedicated employee who can always be counted on. Clients at the Kingston branch request her because they know that she is talented and competent. Marie goes above and beyond what is expected of her role as a senior companion.
Seniors for Seniors chose Lazina Singh to be April’s Employee of the Month.
This spring we profiled one of our very special nurses who works with our dedicated and recognized Palliative Care Team: Katarina Bvoc Berta.
