  • Linda Barnes is our July Employee of the Month!

Meet Linda Barnes, our July Seniors for Seniors Employee of the Month. Linda was chosen because she is an excellent senior companion who is always willing to take on new shifts and help whenever she can. Here is what Linda has to share about being a senior companion:

  • Camilla is our June Employee of the Month!

Seniors for Seniors chose Camilla Mason for June's Employee of the Month. Camilla, who works out of the Toronto branch, was chosen because of her positivity and friendly personality. She treats her clients like her friends and wins everyone over with her warmth and optimism.

  • Seniors and Heat Waves: How to Stay Safe

Too much heat is not safe for anyone, but it is especially unsafe for older adults. It is important for seniors to take precautions to protect themselves during the hot summer months.

  • Seniors need support to stay safe, stay active, stay connected

The theme for Seniors Month in Ontario this year was “Stay safe, active and connected” as designated by the Ministry of Seniors. It's a year of change, hardship and uncertainty for seniors, but also the incredible resilience, courage and determination shown by this generation in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Seniors’ Month: Stay safe, active and connected

We at Seniors for Seniors look forward to Seniors’ Month every year. It is a special time where we celebrate our seniors for the significant place that they hold in our lives. This year the theme for Seniors’ Month is “stay safe, active and connected.”

  • Marie is our May Employee of the Month!

Seniors for Seniors chose Marie Rawson to be May's Employee of the Month. Marie is a loyal and dedicated employee who can always be counted on. Clients at the Kingston branch request her because they know that she is talented and competent. Marie goes above and beyond what is expected of her role as a senior companion.

  • Healthy nutrition for a healthy you

With quarantine still in effect across most of Canada it may be difficult for seniors to get groceries or to prepare a nutritious meal. Fortunately there are services available to ensure that everyone can have healthy and fresh food available to them.

  • Companionship is good for the heart

It is no secret that social isolation is a growing problem, especially with quarantine still in effect across most of Canada. Currently many seniors are struggling with loneliness and isolation. Having quality connections and social supports can increase happiness and longevity.

  • Brian is our Employee of the Year!

At Seniors for Seniors we are extremely proud of the many outstanding senior companions who provide clients with exceptional care. The award for 2020 Employee of the Year goes to Brian Laderoute.
