2022 was a year of growth for Spectrum Health Care. As we kick off a new year, we wanted to take look back at some of our highlights and important milestones.

For the second consecutive year, Spectrum has been recognized for overall business performance and sustained growth with the prestigious Canada’s Best Managed Companies designation. We celebrated our designation with our amazing team of home care professionals who work tirelessly to demonstrate unwavering care and compassion for our patients and their families and have been integral in building Spectrum into the hugely impactful company it is today.

Best Practice Spotlight Organization (BPSO) designation by the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO). This designation recognizes Spectrum's success in implementing, evaluating and sustaining Best Practice Guidelines (BPGs) developed by the RNAO, providing the highest level of professional practice and delivering evidence-based care across all principles.

Acquisition of Quebec-based Visavie. Our Total Care Model has expanded even more thanks to the addition of Visavie, Spectrum's first venture outside Ontario and is aligned with our expansion strategy that will give more Canadians the choice and confidence to be cared for at home, wherever home may be. Visavie provides highly personalized retirement home placement services helping seniors and their families make the right choices about retirement homes or independent living.

Commitment to Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs). Spectrum embraced a novel approach to actively recruit and sponsor IENs. This initiative will allow us to draw on the experience and expertise of international nurses helping to play a critical role in our healthcare system. Today Spectrum employs and support more than 130 IENs.

Spectrum Health Care Foundation continued its support for our partner organizations donating over $50,000. In 2022, we made significant donations to our Foundation partner organizations: LOFT Community Services, Society of Sharing (SOS), The Dorothy Ley Hospice, Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities (SCHC), Camilla Care and Rose of Sharon. Spectrum Health Care Foundation is a national registered charity that was created to support the people and communities we serve.
