Meet Sandra Earl, our August Employee of the Month. Sandra was chosen because of her ability to make her clients feel valued and cared for. She treats her clients like her own friends and family. Here is what Sandra has to share about being a senior companion.

1. How did you hear about Seniors for Seniors and why did you decide to join the company?

I heard about Seniors for Seniors on Facebook. They where looking for senior companions to join their team.I was thrilled to see that they were hiring seniors like me to work for them. So I sent my resume right away.

2. What is your favourite companion/caregiver experience or story?

My favourite story was when I worked for E.C. and she was in her bed resting, she hadn't been doing very well. I brought her some water and she said to me, "well young lady I hope that doesn't cost more then a dollar." I laughed and said, "oh darn it's $1.03." She laughed and said I was fired. I knew that day we would get along great. And we sure did. She loved calling me bossy Betsy when I told her it was time for her pills. We had such a special bond and friendship.

3. How has Seniors for Seniors benefited your clients?

I think Seniors for Seniors is a great benefit to our clients. They feel comfortable with us because we are older and have lived and know the good and bad of life. We can relate with our clients a lot. They feel more comfortable with us in their homes.

4. How has being a Seniors for Seniors caregiver enriched your life?

I have only worked with Seniors for Seniors since November and I can't believe the amazing clients I have had and will have in the future. Working for Seniors for Seniors has enriched my life by sending me to work for amazing clients. Also the office staff are so helpful when I call in. AFter E.C. passed away I had no work, but I know the office staff where looking every day for clients to send me to. I am honoured to be part of a team that cares deeply for the clients and staff.
