Meet Joachim Schreiber, Seniors for Seniors' September Employee of the Month.

Joachim is an outstanding employee that goes above and beyond to deliver reliable and exceptional companion services to Seniors for Seniors clients. His clients describe him as someone who makes a difference in their lives! Joachim’s strengths in multi-tasking and understanding the idiosyncrasies of client care make him a stand-out service provider. We've received nothing but excellent feedback from our clients about Joachim.

Here Joachim shares his experience being a senior companion:

1. How did you hear about Seniors for Seniors and why did you decide to join the company?

A friend of mine works for Seniors for Seniors and she suggested I apply. So I did and the rest is history.

2. What is your favourite companion/caregiver experience or story?

I have the chance to be the companion of one client in particular; a lovely lady who lives alone in Ottawa. Over the last few months, we’ve developed a beautiful relationship. I feel honoured to be able to care for her and to make sure she is safe at her home. Unable to pronounce my name, she now calls me Joey, which makes me laugh every time.

3. How has Seniors for Seniors benefited your clients?

Our services allow my clients to stay at home and enjoy their usual surroundings. I feel it helps them keep their mental and physical health going.

4. How has being a Seniors for Seniors caregiver enriched your life?

As a new permanent resident in Canada, working for Seniors for Seniors gave me the opportunity to make new friends and to facilitate my establishment in the country. I am now fully integrated in the labour market in Canada and have become a contributing member of society.
