Huguette is our newest Employee of the Month
Every month Seniors for Seniors chooses an employee who exemplifies qualities of a great senior companion.
We chose Huguette Malo Sinisac for our July Employee of the Month because of her compassion and care. Huguette is very hardworking and dedicated. If there is ever a last-minute shift to be filled, Huguette is always there. We have heard wonderful feedback from families about Huguette’s care for their loved ones. Huguette is a great asset to our team!
Here is what Huguette has to share about being a senior companion:
1.How did you hear about Seniors for Seniors and why did you decide to join the company?
I met a representative of Seniors for Seniors at a senior’s information fair in Dorchester. I had been looking for a job opportunity and I stumbled upon Seniors for Seniors' kiosk and learned about the company which really excited me. I knew right away I had found my niche.
2. What is your favourite companion/caregiver experience or story?
My favourite companion/caregiver story was last winter in 2019. I had the privilege of working with a mother of 20 children. Wow what a precious and beautiful lady with so many great stories to share. She had a very special and caring family.
3. How has Seniors for Seniors benefited your clients?
Seniors for Seniors helps the elderly stay in their home for as long as possible. We are able to give them more freedom and independence and a love of life again. We help many recuperate from illness, broken bones and deal with ADL through support and encouragement. We also give relief to families from being caregivers 24/7 and give them peace of mind knowing their loved ones are well taken care of.
4. How has being a Seniors for Seniors caregiver enriched your life?
For me it is a lot of growth and understanding of the elderly and their family dynamics. It is important to have empathy on both sides of the coin. As I am a senior myself, being a senior companion allows me to appreciate life with a different set of eyes and not to take it for granted. Many more stories are added to my repertoire every time I meet with my clients.
