The Recruiter is responsible for the recruitment of high volume branch field employees across all divisions. Please note that this is a full-time position based out of our Bloor Head Office (Toronto). This position will also require mobility to travel between different branch locations within the GTA, as required.


  • Adheres to the safe work/risk management policies and procedures of Spectrum Health Care
  • Works within the Ethical Practice Framework of Spectrum Health Care
  • Understand the range of services provided by each division of the Spectrum family and how it contributes to our model of Total Client Care
  • Fulfillment of high volume front line recruitment
  • Continually assess, anticipate, identify and respond to new and changing needs of clients and communicates available Total Client Care resources to clients when appropriate
  • Stays current on company policies and federal and provincial legislation regarding employment practices
  • Monitors and applies recruiting best practices
  • Reviews staffing requests to determine hiring priorities; checks resume bank
  • Participates in internal and external recruitment activities including: posting jobs on websites, contacting schools/community/professional organizations, job fairs, preparing advertising as necessary
  • Maintains relationships with both internal and external clients to ensure staffing goals are achieved
  • Ensures numerous sourcing initiatives to ensure a steady flow of qualified staff
  • Acts as main point of contact and builds influential candidate relationships during the selection process
  • Develops and updates job descriptions and job specifications
  • Provides employment information to interested parties
  • Screens resumes and evaluates applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with managers
  • Conducts phone and in-person interviews with qualified candidates
  • Follows up with candidates on the interview process status
  • Completes reference and background checks
  • Tracks new hires, inactivations, terminations and other statistics
  • Makes recommendations to hiring managers
  • Works with corporate HR to develop high impact sourcing and retention initiatives
  • Provides overall administrative support to the human resources department as needed


  • Minimum of 3-5 years related experience, health care background preferred
  • Community healthcare experience is an asset


  • Post secondary Human Resources certification or in progress
  • Experience in full-cycle recruiting, sourcing, and employment branding
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Positive interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner
  • Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of work
  • Detail-oriented with ability to organize and multi-task
  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft office: Word, Excel. PowerPoint
