Message from our CEO Lori Lord

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2014!
Every day we are all impacting the lives of many individuals in our community. Together we are providing more than just home care to our clients . We are helping people stay out of hospitals, keeping them confident and independent and at times simply providing them with much needed companionship. I am proud to lead a team of individuals who year after year continuously strive to work harder and do better in order for our clients to receive the best care.
Starting a new year is often a time for reflection, resolutions and self-betterment. Over the course of my career I have continuously worked on resolutions that have helped me learn to work better. I wanted to share them and perhaps you may find them on your list of resolutions:
Learn to ask questions: It's a great opportunity to expand your knowledge and learn something new every day.
Say it simple: Learn to be clear and concise. Challenge yourself to be direct and to the point. Simplicity can go a long way when communicating with others.
Admit mistakes : We all make mistakes. While mistakes are never desirable, learning to admit them is the first step in learning from them.
Last year was a year of tremendous growth and development for Spectrum Health Care. Through acquisitions we opened two divisions Seniors for Seniors and Spectrum Patient Services (non-emergency patient transfer) . We also introduced both Physiotherapists and Physiotherapy Assistants to our field team and created and expanded our IT department. New positions were also created and a number of promotions took place.
This year we want to continue to provide our patients with a level of service that is unsurpassed. This means striving to satisfy our patients in both their immediate and future needs from our new range of services. We are becoming a multi-service organization covering clinical needs, personal support, transportation and companionship. The harmonious relationship between our divisions is a unique strength that Spectrum Health Care can offer its patients and their families. I encourage you to take the time to learn about our new divisions and embrace them as a partner in our service delivery.
2014 is sure to be a dynamic year. We will be embarking on our fifth accreditation with Accreditation Canada this fall. I look forward to the successes that we will gain as we work together to further the growth of Spectrum Health Care.
Wishing you and your family a wonderful 2014!
Warm Regards,
Lori Lord
