Meet Heather Cruickshank, Seniors for Seniors January Employee of the Month!

Heather stands out because she is very professional, is an excellent communicator, and she has a heart of gold. When the phone rings, often it is a repeat client asking for Heather’s service once again. The clients are consistent with their feedback about Heather: she is lovely, she is really good at her job, and she is always helpful. They trust her with their loved ones to get groceries, or to take them to appointments, or even to pick out reading glasses at the mall!

Heather’s positivity, empathetic nature, and dedication to helping others is truly inspirational. We asked Heather a few questions about working as a senior companion:

1. How did you hear about Seniors for Seniors and why did you decide to join the company?

I went to a 55+ Lifestyle Show about 3 years ago and had the pleasure of meeting and talking to the representative at the Seniors for Seniors exhibit. There were so many services available. I liked the idea of being able to help Seniors live more independent lives while also providing a sense of companionship.

    2. What is your favorite companion/caregiver experience or story?

When I read this question the first thing that came to mind is how good it feels to establish a connection with a client and be able to chat and share a laugh with them during our outing/drive. I look forward to seeing the clients again and catch up with them.

      3. How has Seniors for Seniors benefited your clients?

I believe that the company provides clients with the ability to maintain independence while knowing that they are with someone who cares about their well-being. The companions will do their best to help them.

        4. How has being a Seniors for Seniors companion enriched your life?

I have had the pleasure of meeting wonderful people, both clients and their family members. I enjoy my time with them and if I can help them with something they need to get done at home or to get to an appointment or do some shopping, even better!
