Meet April's Employee of the Month!
Each month we spotlight a Seniors for Seniors’ Senior Companion who goes above and beyond their job description in order to make sure our clients feel special and well taken care of.
April’s Employee of the Month is Cathie Place! Cathie was chosen for this award because of her excellent customer service and great rapport with clients and office staff. She takes initiative, is flexible and is never afraid to go out of her comfort zone. Cathie is always willing to change her availability in order to suit our clients’ needs. She supports Seniors for Seniors’ philosophy of providing quality home care services through compassionate caregiving.
We asked Cathie about her experience being a Seniors Companion and here is what she shared:
1. How did you hear about Seniors for Seniors and why did you decide to join the company?
After retiring from 15 years of fostering, I was looking for a part-time job where I could continue to make a positive difference in people's lives. A family member told me about working as a Seniors Companion. She felt I would be a good fit for the job so I applied to Seniors for Seniors.
2. What is your favorite companion/caregiver experience or story?
I worked for a senior couple for over a month and during that time the client celebrated a birthday. I brought a cake and card to celebrate his special day. At the end of my shift the client thanked me for making his birthday so wonderful!
3. How has Seniors for Seniors benefited your clients?
There are many ways that my clients benefit from the services that Seniors for Seniors offers. The seniors are provided companionship and help with day-to-day chores. This enables them to remain in their home during their time of need. It gives their family peace of mind knowing that someone is looking after their loved one. A smile and a kind heart can go a long way for our clients.
4. How has being a Seniors for Seniors Companion enriched your life?
Seniors for Seniors has given me an opportunity to continue making a difference in people's lives. Just lending a helping hand or being there to listen can help make it easier for my clients. I enjoy being a Senior Companion because it allows me to continue helping others.
Thank you Cathie for sharing why you enjoy being a Senior Companion at Seniors for Seniors. Congratulations on being the April Employee of the Month! We thank you for your dedication and warmth to our clients.
