1. How did you hear about Seniors for Seniors, and why did you decide to join the company?
I was looking for volunteer opportunities when I came across the Seniors for Seniors website. The position looked interesting and the company seemed like one that I would like to work for.
2. What is your favorite companion/caregiver experience or story?
As for my favourite experience, I think it could be a client named Gertrude. I found her to be a lovely woman and we had great conversations. She was interested in seeing pictures of my garden which I don't normally carry around but happened to have. She was very nice to talk to and a joy to serve.
3.How has Seniors for Seniors benefited your clients?
Seniors for Seniors has benefited my clients in so many ways. The family members can rest assured that their loved ones are being looked after without having to put their jobs at risk by taking multiple days off. The clients are not just presented with an employee doing a job but someone who takes an interest in them personally. Both the client and the senior companion are able to enrich each other's lives.
4.How has being a Seniors for Seniors caregiver enriched your life?
Prior to joining Seniors for Seniors my days were not differentiated. I had been laid off from my job that was my career. I didn't want to be in a high stress situation again so I wasn't looking for the same kind of work. I then had a void that I didn't know how to fill. Seniors for Seniors has filled that void for me. I now know what day it is, where I'm going and have a new purpose.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us Jayne!
