Brian is our March Employee of the Month
Each month we choose an exceptional senior companion who goes above and beyond while providing client care.
For the month of March we chose Brian Laderoute as our Employee of the Month. Brian is a wonderful senior companion who always has a smile on his face when he is with his clients. We get nothing but rave reviews from our clients and their families about Brian!
We recently asked Brian a few questions. Here is what he has to share about being a senior companion:
1. How did you hear about Seniors for Seniors and why did you decide to join the company?
I was looking for part-time work on Indeed. The Seniors for Seniors job ad was posted. When I saw the ad I thought to myself that I would love to be involved with people that I could easily relate to.
2. What is your favorite companion/caregiver experience or story?
I am just amazed at the ability of the seniors! It’s too difficult to point out one particular person or one favourite event. The clients have all created a delightful learning curve—all different but all unique in their own way.
3. How has Seniors for Seniors benefited your clients?
Many seniors don’t have anyone in their life they can rely on for help or conversation. The tremendous amount of appreciation I receive for what one would consider minor gestures is overwhelming. Knowing that their day has been made just a little bit better makes my day too.
4. How has being Seniors for Seniors caregiver enriched your life?
Being a Seniors for Seniors caregiver is rewarding work. From the management of clients to the journey of building trust and friendship - this whole experience has been uplifting. Supervisors and client care coordinators do a great job of providing a relaxed atmosphere. And when you leave a client who expresses his/her gratitude—that’s the icing on this whole experience. I have never felt this way before in any of my endeavours.
