We are pleased to announce that Spectrum Health Care's CEO Lori Lord, was presented with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Medal at the Canadian Home Care's 2012 Summit on October 23, 2012.

She received this medal in recognition of her partnership with Choice Humanitarian and Tides Canada Foundation in raising support for the people of Xalibe, a village in the remote Cloud Forest District of Guatemala.

The commemorative medal marks the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's accession to the throne as Queen of Canada, an occasion marked only once before by her great-great-grandmother, Queen Victoria in 1897. A select group of Canadians across the country are being honoured with this award to recognize their significant contributions and achievements to their communities and Canada.

Lori, in partnership with Choice Humanitarian and Tides Canada Foundation, launched Spectrum Health Care's Xalibe Project in 2006. The project focuses on providing health care, education and a clean water supply to the people within the Cloud Forest District. More recently the project has undertaken the construction of a hospital in the Polochic Valley which will serve the people of Xalibe and surrounding communities.
