Palliative Care

Palliative care is an approach to home health care for individuals facing life threatening illnesses or are nearing the end of their life.

Spectrum Health Care's palliative care staff work in conjunction with your loved one's dedicated physician and health care team to provide quality pain and symptom management while providing comfort and care. Our palliative care team consists of:

  • Palliative Care Nurses: Specially trained to assist the patient with pain and symptom management. As well as explain to the family the various stages that their loved one is experiencing.
  • Personal Support Workers: Who know exactly what to do and how to provide comfort and care at just the right time. They also provide assistance with activities of daily living which include: personal hygiene, meal preparation, dressing and undressing.

If your loved one is unable to receive palliative care in the comfort of your home, Spectrum Health Care can provide Personal Support Workers to provide additional care to your loved one in a variety of health care settings including: long term care facilities, hospitals and hospices.
