Pediculosis / Lice Clinics
Pediculosis is the term used to define an infestation of lice. It is estimated that one in ten children will acquire head lice at some point during their childhood. Lice is easily spread through close contact with individuals who are infested. Sharing of hats, scarves, clothes or coats can increase the chances of infestation, often making schools a prime target for lice outbreaks.
Spectrum Health Care can provide pediculosis detection clinics to assist in screening students for possible lice infestations. Early detection of lice can effectively prevent school wide outbreaks and assist students who are infested with receiving quick and effective treatment.
